The premise of this Sundance Audience Award winning film is simple: in order to save her boyfriend’s life, Lola has 20 minutes to find and deliver a bunch of money. How the story is told, however, is anything but simple. Run Lola Run represents a breakthrough in narrative storytelling by telling the same short story three sequential times, each driving to a dramatically different outcome based on a single, minor variation in the plot. The result is an action-packed thriller of a film that pushes us to consider questions of fate and free will.
