Sioux Falls Premiere
Post film Q&A with the filmmakers and Dessa
-- SOUTH DAKOTA FILM --
On her way home from a housewarming party,
Elise (Dessa) observes—and is observed by—something bizarre, inexplicable, and familiar
in the night sky. She leaves the experience shaken, only to find that it has
just begun.
Inspired by the type of paranormal experiences
too odd to categorize neatly, THE EVENTS OF THAT NIGHT, AS BEST I CAN REMEMBER
falls somewhere between traditional genre conventions, under the multifaceted
umbrella phenomena referred to by experiencers and researchers as High
Strangeness.
Shot on location in Sioux Falls and Inwood,
Iowa with a Sioux Falls crew, the short film marks rapper/singer/writer Dessa’s
first foray into narrative film acting and features the on screen debut of
Sioux Falls painter J. White in a supporting role. Costuming and art direction
were provided by local artists Amy Jarding and Cameron Stahlheim
A portion of the ticket sales will be donated
to The Transformation Project, an organization supporting and empowering trans
individuals and their families across South Dakota.
