The festive atmosphere of a Victorian English Christmas will be front and center as the State Theatre Acting Company (STAC) presents a full-length radio show version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” This classic “Ghost Story of Christmas” is a perennial favorite for the entire family and sure to instill the true spirit of Christmas into your holiday.

The story follows cold-hearted miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, as he undergoes a profound journey of self-discovery and redemption over the course of one Christmas Eve night. After he climbs into bed, Scrooge is visited by three Ghosts of Christmas – Past, Present and Yet-to-Come. Each ghost in turn teaches him an invaluable lesson, transforming Scrooge into a kinder, gentler man filled with goodwill and good cheer inherent in the Christmas spirit.

With costuming by STAC’s award-winning Sharon Sciabica, music by the Merry Olde Time Carolers, STAC’s talented actors, beautiful scenery and live Foley sound effects, the joy of the season will be on full display.

Last year’s Christmas radio show was sold out so we have added a third show this year. Get your tickets early. Performances will be in the main sanctuary at First Congregational Church of Auburn, 710 Auburn Ravine Rd., Auburn. No food or drink is permitted inside the venue; however, Auburn State Theatre will provide concessions, including a special cocktail, before the show and during Intermission in Overmiller Hall.
