This Oscar-winning musical biopic follows the meteoric rise of Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) and his rock band Queen in the 1970s while Freddie grapples with his desire for fame, sexuality, and creative differences with his bandmates and label. Bohemian Rhapsody exemplifies the ridiculous choices a music biopic must make in order to emphasize the mythical aura of its subject. This screening will be preceded by an extended introduction from Robert Greene, Producer and Editor of Pavements and Filmmaker-in-Chief at the Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism.
