Mary S. Palmer has a BA (Cum Laude) in English from the University of South Alabama. Her master's degree is also in Engligh with a concentration in creative writing. She teaches English at Faulkner University. A native of Mobile, Alabama, she taught as a member of the adjunct faculty at Huntingdon College and at Faulker State Community College in Fairhope, Alabama for many years.
She has published twenty-two books, produced four plays, including a Mock Trial held at the Conde-Charlotte Museum in November, 2022. Numerous poems of hers have been published. Boyington Oak: A Grave Injustice was released in November 2019; Tourism Writing – A New Literary Genre Unveiling the History, Mystery, and Economy of Places and Events, was written with a Grant from Faulkner University. It received the SELTI award. Commas for Soul Searchers was published in2021. She also coauthored Mississippi Mojo series with Paula Webb.
Palmer’s short story The Concrete Block Wall won the Hackney Award in 2016. She is currently completing a mystery series. She loves to travel and uses those experiences in her writings.
