Forest Ecology, Adaptations and Coevolution. Join renown ecologist Tom Wessels on a field walk at Little Long Pond natural lands to learn about forest ecology, unique adaptations, and coevolved interrelationships of species.


Tom Wessels is professor emeritus at Antioch University where he founded the master's degree program in Conservation Biology. Best known for his work in forest ecosystems, including complex systems science, coevolution, and their implications for human systems. He is author of numerous books with his latest being New England's Roadside Ecology: Explore 30 of the Region's Unique Natural Areas.

3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Walking distance will be less than 1 mile, mostly on the carriage roads, with some off-road walking. Sturdy walking shoes recommended.

$5 minimum donation for members.
$10 minimum donation for non-members.
