Gabe Polsky is an award-winning writer, director, and producer known for bold, unconventional storytelling in both documentary and narrative film. He most recently wrote, directed, and produced Butcher’s Crossing, starring Nicolas Cage, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). His acclaimed documentaries include Red Penguins (2019), In Search of Greatness (2018), and Red Army (2014), which premiered at Cannes and was released by Sony Pictures Classics. Polsky also co-directed the award-winning The Motel Life (2012), produced Werner Herzog’s cult classic Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, and the Emmy-nominated His Way, and executive produced National Geographic’s Emmy-nominated Einstein: Genius series. He is a three-time Writers Guild Award nominee and Critics Choice nominee.
