Description

Sam Ross Quartet at The James Theater

Sam Ross is a saxophonist, composer, and educator who has been involved in music for over 10 years. Originally hailing from Eastern Iowa, Sam has earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at the University of Iowa and is actively pursuing his Master's in Music degree at the University of Akron in Northeast Ohio. He actively performs in both states, as well as hosting jam sessions and continuing to be an in demand musician for a diverse array of groups. Sam has performed with The Four Tops, Dennis Reynolds, Jerome Gillespie, Theron Brown, Chris Coles, and has recently appeared on rapper and songwriter Riley Mobz's newest album Living Better Sleeping Less, as a featured instrumentalist.

Now back to composing original music, Sam Ross is eager to perform two sets at the James Theater, the first being a rendition of standards in the Jazz Repertoire, and the second set being comprised entirely of original music written by him, much of which has not been performed before. He is honored to be joined by some of his best friends and bandmates Christian Montover, Blake Shaw, and Seth Rezek.
