Richard Villa is a bilingual stand-up comedian and actor known for his unique comedic perspective as a Mexican-American Latino. With appearances on Netflix, MTV, Comedy Central, and HBO, Villa has established himself as a prominent figure in both English and Spanish-language comedy.
As the first Latino host of “Refried Fridays” at the Hollywood Improv, he has shared the stage with top comedians like Gabriel Iglesias and Dave Chappelle. Raised in Compton, California, Richard transitioned from a successful career in mechanical engineering to pursue comedy full-time, quickly gaining recognition with roles in shows like “Habla” and “Mind of Mencia.”
Through his production company, “Refried Comedy,” he has significantly influenced the stand-up scene in the U.S. and Latin America, participating in various specials such as “Sigue la Risa” on Netflix. Recently, he completed world tours with Franco Escamilla and Luis de Alba and made history at the Nashville Comedy Festival with the first all-Spanish stand-up show.
