ABOUT THE FILM

Scout and her brother, Jem, live in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama, spending much of their time with their friend Dill and spying on the reclusive and mysterious Boo Radley. When Atticus (Gregory Peck), their father and a respected lawyer, defends Tom Robinson, a Black man, against fabricated rape charges, the trial and surrounding events expose the children to the evils of racism and stereotyping.

WHY THIS FUNDRAISER?

Two main principles underlie The Kentucky Theatre's mission: freedom of expression and a desire to share with our patrons the richness and diversity of the human experience. No organization defends these principles like the ACLU. Join with us to support the nation's premier defender of our rights, which are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

We've set a goal of raising $10,000 for this benefit screening, and we're confident that, with your help, we can reach that goal! We've set the ticket price at $12.50. If we sell out our main auditorium, that will raise $10,000. Please help us spread the word in conversations with your friends and family and on social media. And remember, we are donating 100% of ticket sales.
