Compiled from six hours of newly discovered conversations with Israel’s founding father, this film presents a rare and fortuitous piece of cinematic archeology. In never-before-seen footage, the then 82-year-old former prime minister is in his final years after leaving office, interviewed at his secluded desert home over the course of several days in 1968. An introspective David Ben-Gurion reflects on the loss of his wife, his personal health and political legacy, and his hopes for Middle East peace. Offering hindsight on the Zionist enterprise, BEN-GURION, EPILOGUE is a work of undeniable historical significance with prophetic implications for Israel’s future.

Q&A with Alon Ben-Gurion

ALON BEN-GURION was born in Israel in 1951 and grew up in Tel Aviv and Haifa. At age 18, he joined the IDF and became a paratrooper. Alon was  severely wounded in the Yom Kippur war and after a long recovery attended Tel Aviv University and received his BA Degree in Social Sciences, followed by a Master’s Degree from Cornell University in Hospitality Management. For the last 40 years, Alon has worked in the hotel management field in various countries, including Israel, England, Belgium and the United States. He  had the privilege of working at the prestigious Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Hiltons, the Park Lane Hilton in London, the Capital Hilton in Washington, and the Waldorf Astoria, New York. Throughout his career, Alon has appeared as a frequent speaker, both in the US and abroad, speaking on issues about which he is passionate. These include programs that promote the legacy of his grandfather, David Ben-Gurion. He has also spoken on the need to preserve and protect The Negev, improving the relationship between Jews in Israel and America and on issues of importance to disabled veterans of the IDF and the American Military (through the Heroes to Heroes organization).
