Exhibition on Screen: Canaletto & the Art of Venice
EXHIBITION ON SCREEN open its fifth season with Canaletto & the Art of Venice, an immersive journey into the life and art of Venice’s famous view-painter. No artist better captures the essence and allure of Venice than Giovanni Antonio Canal, better known as Canaletto. The remarkable group of over 200 paintings, drawings and prints on display offer unparalleled insight into the artistry of Canaletto and his contemporaries, and the city he became a master at capturing. The film also offers the chance to step inside two official royal residences - Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle – to learn more about the artist, and Joseph Smith, the man who introduced Canaletto to Britain.

Roomful of Blues
Even though Roomful of Blues’ lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. Singer DD Bastos brings her sweet and soulful vocals and adds another bright new dimension to the jazzy, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B and soul remains their calling card, as does their ability to fill the dance floor. Along with bassist John Turner, trumpeter Chris Pratt, drummer Mike Coffey, keyboardist Jeff Ceasrine, baritone and tenor saxophonist Craig Thomas, and tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille, Roomful keeps on rockin’ into 2024!

TOM PETTY: HEARTBREAKERS BEACH PARTY
In 2024, the long-thought lost 16mm reels of Tom Petty in Cameron Crowe’s first film,
“Heartbreakers Beach Party”, were finally found. The classic ‘80s documentary captures Tom
Petty and the band in 1982-1983 as they finish, promote, and tour around the “Long After Dark”
album (their final with legendary producer Jimmy Iovine). After its initial airing on MTV in 1983,
the film was deemed too experimental and abruptly pulled from the air. In the more than 40
years since, it has become folklore to fans, musicians and within the entertainment industry -
even credited with inspiring scenes in Spinal Tap. The highly anticipated & fully remastered
“Heartbreakers Beach Party” is a fun, candid, fast paced, & musically rich ride with America’s
greatest rock & roll band, a time capsule of the dawn of the MTV era, and a rare & shining
glimpse into Tom Petty’s lasting creative genius.

JIMMY TINGLE: The “Radical” Middle -Why Would A Comedian Run For Office?
Jimmy chronicles his fascinating transition from a life as a seasoned comedian to a desire to enter into politics, for real this time. He applies his distinctive Boston brand of humor to solve some of America’s most complex problems.
This original and autobiographical film challenges audiences to move beyond the politics of tweets, sound bites, and the nightly — or hourly — news cycle… and into the realm of long-term thinking and life-affirming possibility, as the United States faces the election of 2024 with a myriad of emotions, passions and theories.
Through the lens of common sense, comedy, commentary and conversation, Jimmy aspires to contribute to the national dialogue in a hopeful, positive — and funny — way as America strives to create, in the words of Abraham Lincoln: “a more perfect union.”
Watch this 50-minute compilation of stand-up performance, historic footage and at-home interviews to remember the healing power of humor.
