Last year, in partnership with a non-profit organization, the Amelia Ann Adams Whole Life Center Foundation, my old friend Omar Guerrero arranged The Healing Through Art Film Showcase in Stockton, California! A screening of "CUFFED," my senior thesis short film, as well as three other films written and directed by my friends that address difficult issues facing black youth today, such as dealing with the juvenile justice system, overcoming physical and emotional abuse, and breaking generational curses between teenagers and their parents.

BE (Desmond Jackson) - 7mins - A habitual liar afraid of disclosing his sexuality is slowly killed by the lies he tells his friends. CROWNE (Kelcey Henderson) - 12mins - A budding songwriter encounters a rap cipher in her neighborhood. She is confronted by her rival and forced to showcase her skills publicly for the first time.
HOME (Shari Coleman) - 15mins - When her parent's domestic violent relationship comes to a head, Harley must choose between protecting her family and keeping her sanity.
CUFFED (Parker Caston Jr.) - 15mins - 2 young black boys in high school get caught at the wrong time and place by the police. Although they escape their freedom does not last long.
