A Pioneer for Channel thirteen’s PBS, Lacy is the creator of the highly acclaimed series, American Masters. Lacy has sat with some of the most renowned culture icons for both the PBS series and her current work with HBO, names such as Jane Fonda, Ralph Lauren, Joni Mitchell, and Stephen Spielberg to name a few. Her knowledge of the industry and her experience is invaluable and offer a key to any inspiring documentary filmmaker and storyteller.

Knowledge Fridays, held the first Friday of each month, highlight outstanding East End locals with various backgrounds and careers. The program allows the audience to meet and learn about dynamic, inspiring, and fascinating East Enders. It is a monthly program open to the public and free to our members.

Susan Lacy is one of the preeminent documentary filmmakers of the last 40 years. She helped lay the groundwork for cultural history and biography of substance on American television. Susan Lacy created the highly regarded American Masters series for WNET/PBS, which has produced thought-provoking films about our country's most important cultural figures. As its Executive Producer for nearly thirty years, Susan earned the series 27 Emmy Awards, including a remarkable 10 for Outstanding Non-Fiction Series. Susan also directed and produced a number of award-winning documentaries for American Masters -- including films on Leonard Bernstein, Judy Garland, David Geffen, Lena Horne, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Rod Serling, and Paul Simon. Susan has since left American Masters for a long-term production deal with HBO. Under this deal, Susan has directed and produced "Spielberg" (2017), "Jane Fonda In Five Acts" (2018), and "Very Ralph" (2019).
