The excitement of senior year doesn’t appeal much to Will (Connor Russell), a teenager quietly dealing with his deteriorating mental health. For Will, there’s only one thing he can do to end his agony, but when his suicide plan fails, he finds himself back in the crowded hallways of his high school to redo his final year. Unmoved by his second chance, he sifts through regret and begins taking dangerous measures to ensure his plan works this time. But the world around Will refuses to give up on him, and he’s forced into joining the cross country team. Enamored with his high-performing teammate Robin (Tia Tardy), Will gradually starts taking interest in life again. Robin is just as curious about him, and soon a friendship blooms, teetering on the edge of romance. But when Robin’s own mental health issues surface, things quickly become complicated. In his feature directorial debut, Philadelphia’s own Danny Gevirtz crafts a stunning coming-of-age narrative that eloquently captures the nuances of mental illness and growing up.
