Join us as Chenae Bullock presents a reflective evening honoring Indigenous wisdom and illuminating humanity’s needed participation and awareness in the call to action to protect, honor, and cleanse our waterways.  A water protector, community leader, cultural preservationist, indigenous perspective historian, humanitarian, and traditional Shinnecock woman, Chanae is a highly sought speaker and cultural practitioner. Her presentation will focus on waterways of our region specifically and a Q&A with those in attendance will follow.

Chenae’s voice has been integral in bringing people together, creating awareness of the importance of bio-centricity, awakening genetic memory, preserving the earth, and helping revitalize the Ancient Knowledge that benefits all people.

Dedicating her life’s work to teaching others about forming healthier relationships with water, nature, and each other, Chanae has been a featured speaker for the “voiceless:” the water, the land, the birds, and the four-legged. Join us as we respond to her call to action, as we recognize that “The Earth is alive,” and that “Indigenous people are medicine to the land and the water.”

The Church is grateful to Christine Sciulli for recommending Chenae as a speaker. Christine’s installation piece “The Weight of Water,” is included in our exhibition Space – Sight – Line. The work, which reflects the responsibilities we share to correct the societal and environmental injustices by way of water, will be alive within the space, echoing and amplifying, Chenae’s message.
