Khalid (Derrick B. Harden) is a charming but directionless dreamer from Brooklyn, always searching for his big break. He believes he’s hit the jackpot when an older woman funds his trip to Bulgaria with promises of additional support. However, upon arriving in her picturesque coastal resort town, he’s shocked to discover that she has just died, leaving him stranded and penniless. In this isolated village, Khalid stands out as the sole Black newcomer, drawing intrigued attention from the townsfolk. Through a series of humorous and poignant misadventures, he encounters locals who unexpectedly offer him a sense of connection and belonging. This heartfelt film follows Khalid’s struggle to find his way home and discover new meaning in a foreign land. Blending comedy with sincerity, it explores themes of chance, identity, and resilience, revealing how personal growth and new opportunities can arise from the most unexpected places.
