Terry Masear, a no-nonsense yet endlessly empathetic woman, lives in Hollywood and has dedicated her life to rescuing and rehabilitating injured hummingbirds. Terry’s phone is constantly lighting up with calls and texts from (mostly) well-meaning strangers who have recently encountered a hurt or dying hummingbird. Terry springs into action, doing what she can to ensure the bird’s immediate safety before coordinating transportation. From there, each rescued creature is brought in and given specialized care, in hopes it will soon be able to return to the wild, though not every bird is that lucky. Terry’s history is dark and devastating, but her ability to work through her trauma by caring for these small creatures allows her to find her own inner strength. Featuring breathtaking footage of the stunning and impossibly tiny birds, Every Little Thing shows the resilience of both its winged subjects and Terry herself. Profoundly moving, uplifting and surprisingly crowd-pleasing, this documentary will show you the joys of empathy and growth through helping others.
