The Philadelphia Film Society is partnering with Theater of Witness, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and NAMI Philadelphia to host an immersive afternoon of powerful storytelling and resource sharing with a film screening, panel discussion, and collective mindfulness moment.
CLEANING IN THE HOUSE OF HEALING is a 42 minute film of the latest Theater of Witness production created and performed with six Environmental Service Workers who clean in hospital settings post-trauma, violence, illness, and care.
Often overlooked and undervalued, this production and film, shine a light on the people who do the essential work of keeping hospitals clean and safe. The performers share their personal life stories as well as the impact that cleaning in the hospital has on them. The original production from which this film is based was created and directed by Teya Sepinuck, with music by Niyonu Spann and cinematic imagery by Dax Roggio.
