Nuremberg begins with the end of military conflict in 1945. Following the Allies’ triumph, with Hitler dead, the question of what to do with the remaining Nazi officers currently in captivity remains. While the overwhelming sentiment is to put these men to death, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson presses forward with bringing the surviving members of the Nazi high command, led by Hermann Göring, to trial in Nuremberg. To ensure the best chance of a conviction, Jackson enlists Lt. Col. Douglas Kelley, an army psychiatrist tasked with evaluating Göring and his fellow Nazi captives. Led by a series of powerhouse performances from Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, and Leo Woodall, Nuremberg stands as a witness to the horrors of the Holocaust, a testament to the bold actions that brave people from around the world took to ideally ensure it would never happen again, and an all-too-timely cautionary tale of how dangerous those who seek to become leaders solely to fulfill their desire for power can become for both their own nations and the entire world.
