KATARINA ZHU | UNITED STATES | 2025 | 86 MIN | ENGLISH
Rebecca (Katarina Zhu) is a young woman earning her living online, selling curated intimacy to strangers as a cam girl. Offline, she struggles to manage fragile relationships: an estranged, ailing father who suddenly reappears, a shifty ex-boyfriend turned casual hookup, and a shaky bond with her best friend (played by Rachel Sennott). Her father’s return reopens wounds she thought were healed, but she soon becomes distracted by an enigmatic new client whose mysterious presence intrigues her one video chat after another. As their connection deepens, her client’s nefarious intentions begin to emerge, plunging Rebecca into a perilous power imbalance. Vulnerability seeps into every corner of her life, leaving her grasping for control as her online persona and offline troubles collide in ways she never anticipated. In her fearless directorial debut, director-actor Zhu crafts an intimate portrait of identity, desire, and survival in a world where visibility is currency and every connection carries a cost.
