Real estate agent Thomas Hutter is sent to a castle in Transylvania to visit a new client, the mysterious Count Orlok. The Count seeks to buy a derelict house near Hutter's own residence, where he lives with his wife, Ellen. When Orlok's true vampiric nature is revealed, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing Ellen is in grave danger.
