Gestural Figures & Still Life Forms: Watercolor Intensive with Wendy Artin

Immerse yourself in the practice of watercolor painting! Join renowned artist Wendy Artin for a three-day intensive workshop that explores figures and form through this delicate medium. Working daily from 10 am – 4 pm, each day will be broken into two areas of study: gestural figures and still-life forms. In the morning (10:00 am – 12:30 pm), participants will examine the human figure, working from a live model to generate fast & fluid monochromatic watercolors of poses that range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. In the afternoon (1:30 pm– 4:00 pm), the study will shift to still-life, examining the details of light, form, and color in fresh local produce, to create simple, yet essential, colorful paintings. Guided by Artin, participants will learn and expand upon the necessary techniques to capture and translate these subjects through watercolor.
