Course Description


Live Audio Engineering Weekend Workshop November 7–8, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM State Theatre, Modesto, California This two-morning, hands-on workshop is designed for aspiring musicians, volunteers, church technicians, venue staff, and anyone interested in live audio production. Participants will learn the fundamentals of professional live sound in a practical, real-world environment using professional audio equipment.

What Participants Will Learn

· Signal flow from microphone to loudspeaker.
· Microphones, DI boxes, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, and stage cabling.
· Gain structure and proper system setup.
· Equalization (EQ), feedback prevention, compression, gates, and effects.
· Monitor mixes and front-of-house mixing fundamentals.
· Reading stage plots and input lists.
· Soundcheck workflow and troubleshooting common live audio issues.
· Proper cable management, equipment handling, and event professionalism.
· Communication between engineers, musicians, and production teams.
· Hands-on mixing exercises using professional live sound systems.
