Invented by Timothy Ely, the Drum Leaf binding is a beautiful and simple structure that allows you to create a book with minimal equipment, while its unique design allows the pages to lie flat and be fully displayed without interruption of stitching.
Under the guidance of Vogel, participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from a true master as they compose, develop, and bind a simple hardcover book of their own. Participants will learn about the anatomy of a book and how to utilize the array of tools and materials associated with bookbinding. Vogel will also delve into techniques for working with book cloth and rice paper, sharing valuable insights for their use.
