Chris Marker’s uniquely original essay film Sans Soleil is a meditation on time, memory, and human interconnectedness. Told through a series of letters that suggests a travel diary, the film incorporates documentary footage along with clips from films and television to ruminate on the very nature of filmmaking and the role of the spectator.
