A wonderful afternoon immersed in the lives of the theatrical producing duo Fanchon and
Marco. Host Steve Simon (Fanchon’s grandson) shares clips, photos and stories about Fanchon
and Marco’s large-scale theatrical tours and dance productions of the 20s and 30s, highlighting
many of their most lavish productions. The presentation concludes with the full-length feature
film Footlight Parade, a depression-era masterpiece that is one of the greatest 1930s musical
extravaganzas. Directed and choreographed by the creative genius Busby Berkeley, the film
spotlights the exemplary work of Fanchon and Marco.
