Description

1933 • Fay Wray
In 1933 Fay Wray was approached by producer Merian C. Cooper, who told her that he had a
part for her in a picture in which she would be working with a tall, dark leading man. The "tall,
dark leading man" would be a giant gorilla and the picture would be
King Kong. The film grossed $90,000 in its opening weekend, which was the biggest opening ever at the time. The
success of the film was credited for saving RKO from bankruptcy. Come see the original Kong
on the big screen!
